Job description

Trinity Fire & Security Systems, part of the PTSG Group, have delivered industry leading services in the Fire and Security industry for over 28 years. As we accelerate our growth through 2025, we are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to join our high-performing Midlands sales team.

Location: Midlands

The role of Business Development Manager

As a business development manager at Trinity, you’ll be a driving force in developing and growing sales of Fire and Security System Installations and Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) contracts. Your role will involve proactively generating new business, as well as leveraging existing group relationships and cross-divisional opportunities.

The key tasks include the following:

  • Strategic Sales: Proactively identify and define target markets, and close new sales opportunities by leveraging existing relationships and group cross-selling opportunities for integrated Fire and Security solutions and contracts.
  • Operational Collaboration: Partner with Trinity’s delivery teams to ensure seamless transition from sale to delivery. Ensuring service excellence and identifying upsell opportunities.
  • Forecasting & Reporting: Provide accurate monthly sales forecasts and pipeline reports. Through active reporting using CRM and internal systems.

What skills do you need?

  • Proven experience in Fire, Life Safety and/or Security sales (installation and/or service contracts)
  • Commercially astute mindset with experience in assessing profitability and margin
  • Client focused communicator with first-class negotiation skills
  • Proactive hunter mentality
  • Organised, results-driven and resilient under pressure

What technical knowledge do you need?

  • Solid understanding of Fire, Life Safety and Electronic Security systems (Fire Alarms, CCTV, Access Control, Intruder Alarms, etc.)
  • Knowledge of fire and security systems standards and regulations (e.g., BS5839, BS5266, NSI, SSAIB)
  • Awareness of Building Regulations and Health & Safety requirements
