Good communication skills are essential due to our collaborative industry approach.

The Role

This position offers a chance for a self-starter to contribute to the next generation of livefoods capabilities for the aquatic industry. Responsibilities include supporting production and distribution of livefoods for marine and freshwater livestock, working at the intersection of operations, logistics, and product development, with a focus on protocol development, quality control, and hands-on execution.

This is a full-time, site-based role requiring daily commuting to our Chorleywood facility.

  • A unique career opportunity in an exciting environment.
  • The chance to develop new product lines and protocols.
  • Exposure to advanced husbandry practices in marine and freshwater systems.
  • Career progression across livestock management, logistics, R&D, and operations.
  • A values-driven environment focused on welfare, sustainability, and quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive & Deliver: Ensure safe, timely delivery of livefoods and materials across TMC sites and to trade customers.
  • Livefood Culture & Harvesting: Develop and refine livefood production methods (e.g., artemia, copepods, bloodworm, daphnia, mysis) emphasizing quality and welfare.
  • Protocol Development: Design, test, and implement new culture methodologies, feeding strategies, and logistics processes.
  • Fish House Support: Collaborate with the livestock team to integrate livefoods into feeding and care regimes.
  • Facility Maintenance: Monitor and maintain culture systems, ensuring water quality, cleanliness, and animal health.
  • Documentation & Traceability: Record procedures, parameters, deliveries, and performance data for quality control and scaling.
  • Team Collaboration: Contribute to knowledge-sharing and process improvements.

Qualifications include hands-on experience with livefoods or aquatics, responsibility, attention to detail, teamwork, good communication, and familiarity with livefoods like copepods, tubifex, daphnia, bloodworm, etc. Experience in protocol development, breeding, or system optimization in lab or commercial settings is preferred. Understanding of aquarium systems and aquatic environmental controls is essential.
