In this role, you will be working in Veson Nautical's Data Intelligence division. The Data Intelligence division combines the leading VesselsValue, Q88, and Oceanbolt brands into a world-leading suite of online, analytical, and regulatory products for the commercial maritime sector. The Data Intelligence Business Development Executive will be an individual contributor, responsible for selling data and insight solutions via an online platform and APIs to new prospects in Scandinavian territories. They will be targeted on acquiring new subscription clients. We are seeking an engaging Business Development Executive to join our European and American New Business Team.

You will work closely with managers and colleagues who have built and grown regions into significant subscription bases within the Data Intelligence brands. You will have cross-functional collaboration with the Research, Analytics, Marketing, Legal, Development, and Support Teams. Your goal will be to qualify and create new logo opportunities, effectively present Veson solutions, and grow the regional Data Intelligence subscription base. Our clients include leading investors, traders, lenders, shipowners, operators, brokers, regulatory bodies, and advisors, providing the successful candidate with contact and exposure to top executives in the maritime industry.

Responsibilities

  • Closing subscription agreements and developing the sales pipeline according to management targets.
  • Building prospect lists and executing outreach with the help of the lead generation team.
  • Attending industry events and generating leads through networking.
  • Qualifying prospects, identifying key contacts, estimating closing timelines and subscription values, and reporting to management.
  • Developing sales strategies and targeted outreach campaigns.
  • Providing feedback on campaign effectiveness to management.

Qualifications

  • Over 3 years of experience in B2B SaaS market data, data intelligence, or software sales, ideally within the maritime, banking, financial services, or related industries.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English and Norwegian; additional languages are a plus.
  • Confident in cold calling and lead generation.
  • Willing to travel as needed.
  • Experience negotiating with and working closely with C-level stakeholders.
  • Proven sales success in shipping/SaaS roles.
  • Ability to execute sales processes and territory plans diligently.
  • Strong rapport-building and consultative sales skills.
  • Proactive in prospecting from lead to close.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging with senior stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in sales tools and software.
  • Ability to address client concerns proactively and exceed expectations.
  • Experience managing SaaS revenue budgets and targets.
  • Outstanding presentation, coaching, and facilitation skills.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Desire to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Knowledge of shipbroking or offshore maritime sectors is a bonus.
