The Role

FT Professional has a well-established value proposition and business model that enables organisations to read our journalism on FT.com and via third-party platforms. A core part of the Professional strategy is to transform the FT from a pink business newspaper into a trusted business intelligence partner. The role sits within the Commercial Innovation team (Pathfinder), which is responsible for validating new products. This exciting position requires a sharp, curious and entrepreneurial approach to help launch and sell these products at their inception.

Key Responsibilities
  • Exceed sales targets by articulating clear value propositions and persuading clients to join as early adopters
  • Identify and spark interest with key buyers through stakeholder mapping
  • Negotiate contracts that align with client needs and product strategy
  • Help commercially validate Monetary Policy Radar, a new product for professionals with interest rate risk
  • Research new markets, validate product ideas, and conduct customer interviews
  • Conduct feedback calls to refine product-market fit and enhance positioning
  • Liaise with key account managers to align tactical selling
  • Collaborate with Product, GSA, and other internal teams at strategic moments
  • Maintain accurate records in Salesforce and share insights across the business
  • Stay informed on industry trends, customer needs, and business drivers
  • Develop business cases with a focus on commercial viability
Required Skills and Experience
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience exceeding sales targets
  • Strong commercial awareness and knowledge of current affairs
  • Curious, solutions-oriented, and confident in decision-making
  • Excellent communication, listening, and questioning skills
  • Organised and thorough
  • Resilient and adaptable to shifting priorities
  • Strong networking ability and collaborative attitude
  • Experience working in B2B media or SaaS
  • Knowledge of macroeconomic and monetary policy topics
  • Familiarity with Salesforce or other CRM tools
