Job Description:

We have an excellent opportunity for a Business Development Executive to join our client’s busy licensed waste carrier and wood recycling business at their site in New Smithfield Market, Manchester. They provide the full range of waste, recycling and confidential shredding services to businesses and schools, and promote sustainable resource management by offering advice, information and educational services within the wider community.

About the role
As a Business Development Executive, you will help create long-term value for the business from customers, markets and relationships with a focus on growing the business including developing existing and potential growth opportunities and your duties will include:

  • Supporting and monitoring the implementation of business development opportunities
  • Promoting the company and our vision at conferences, meetings and industry events
  • Identifying and qualifying sales leads – using existing customers, networks and online research
  • Building area and/or geographic-based business development plans to focus sales activity
  • Coordinating related marketing activities to develop and maintain the customer database
  • Contributing to the development of marketing and business strategies
  • Contributing to writing copy and proofreading for sales and customer communication
  • Ensuring excellent customer service and efficient processing of new and existing customers
  • Following up on any business development opportunities
  • Forming and maintaining strong relationships with new and existing customers and partners using telephone, email and online contact
  • Building testimonials and case studies to support marketing activities
  • Working to weekly and monthly sales targets and KPIs

About you
To be successful for the role of Business Development Executive, you must be / have:

  • Understanding of and commitment to environmental issues e.g. reuse, rescue, recycling
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with an ability to build effective relationships both internally and externally
  • High degree of personal motivation, able to work independently to meet deadlines
  • Previous experience in a sales / business development role
  • Ability to convert prospective customers into sales
  • Experience of building and developing databases of potential leads
  • Strong numeracy, verbal and written communication skills across all types of contact and media

About the rewards
For the role of Business Development Executive your working hours will be 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday and you will receive an excellent salary of up to £22,000 per annum depending on experience.
