Job description

Position Overview

As a Business Development Executive at RDT, you will play a key role in driving business growth by acquiring new clients and contributing to the development and delivery of a robust sales strategy aligned with the company’s objectives. You will be responsible for identifying and engaging prospective clients through a range of channels (telephone, email, social media), and guiding them through the full sales lifecycle—from initial engagement through to proposal creation, solution design, and contract negotiation.

Working closely with the Sales and Marketing team, you will help position RDT’s solutions in the insurance software sector, deliver compelling product demonstrations, participate in Proof of Concept (PoC) initiatives, and support implementation planning. This client-facing role demands a strategic thinker with strong commercial acumen, excellent communication skills, and the ability to build trusted relationships at all levels of a customer organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Client Relationship Director to develop and implement the sales strategy, aligned with RDT’s corporate goals
  • Identify, target, and engage new prospective clients to grow revenue and market share.
  • Build and manage a proactive sales pipeline using CRM tools to ensure effective lead nurturing and conversion.
  • Conduct competitive analysis to understand RDT’s differentiators and support go-to-market positioning.
  • Deliver to KPIs, produce accurate sales forecasts, and generate reports for executive-level stakeholders.
  • Deliver business-focused presentations to all levels of the client organisation, including board-level executives.
  • Lead ROI and value assessments to demonstrate the tangible benefits of RDT’s solutions.
  • Design and propose tailored solutions that address specific client business requirements.
  • Provide pre-sales support, articulating solution value and engaging clients with compelling propositions.
  • Prepare, configure, and deliver high-impact product demonstrations and presentations.
  • Lead the authoring of proposals and manage responses to RFPs, RFIs, and Statements of Work.
  • Coordinate Proof of Concept (PoC) activities to support client engagement and validation.
  • Support the implementation team to ensure smooth, successful delivery of client solutions.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of RDT’s product roadmap and contribute feedback based on client and market needs.
  • Monitor industry trends, regulatory developments, and emerging technologies (including AI) to shape solution positioning.
  • Provide insight into market/customer feedback and help identify gaps between product functionality and demand.
  • Act as a bridge between sales, product, and marketing teams to ensure alignment and knowledge sharing.
  • Represent RDT at industry conferences and client-facing events, sometimes outside standard working hours.
  • Support marketing activities, including PR, events, campaigns, and seminars.

Technical Skills & Requirements

  • Extensive knowledge of the insurance industry is essential.
  • Experience working in the technology sector, particularly with insurance software providers, is highly advantageous.
  • Demonstrable success in developing and executing sales strategies and consistently meeting or exceeding targets.
  • Interest in emerging technologies and their real-world business applications, including AI.
  • Proven ability to engage confidently and credibly with senior stakeholders and executive teams.
  • Strong experience delivering presentations at board and executive level.
  • Excellent stakeholder and relationship management skills.
  • Ability to build and sustain long-term client relationships.
