I am currently looking for a Business Development Director for a global, full-service clinical Contract Research Organization with a strong culture and excellent proposition. This is a newly created, exciting role working with a high-performance global team. The CRO has a strong reputation with clients, stability, and a consistent track record of growth. You will be supported by a respected commercial team and top clinical experts, joining an organization with a collaborative culture.

This is an individual sales contributor role, remote and home-based, focusing on the UK and Western Europe. You will be responsible for securing new business and managing accounts within pharma, biotech, and medical device companies across various therapeutic areas including oncology, CNS, renal, and rare diseases. Success requires a hunter mentality, a strong network, and a proven sales track record in this region, selling comprehensive CRO solutions.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Achieving sales and business development targets
  • Developing and implementing business strategies for target markets
  • Prospecting to build a sales pipeline and generate RFPs from qualified potential clients
  • Using Salesforce to track client activities and opportunities
  • Leading and managing the sales process for leads
  • Leading proposal development to match client expectations
  • Redefining profitable market niches based on evidence
  • Providing input to marketing strategies
  • Contributing to sales targets and plans based on industry knowledge
  • Supporting pre-sales activities and resource allocation
  • Engaging with agents and consultants in other regions
  • Maximizing opportunities with internal research staff
