Business Development Director – Data & AI

We’re currently working with an established and market leading technology and transformation consultancy. They are looking for an experienced AI Business Development Director to drive the growth of a rapidly expanding AI practice. You’ll be at the forefront of the AI revolution, with a specific focus on technologies such as Generative AI, Open AI services, Microsoft Azure, Power Platform, and Co-pilot.

Your role will centre on identifying and developing opportunities where AI offerings can deliver real value to clients across a range of industries. While your primary focus will be on AI, you’ll also play a vital role in connecting opportunities to a broader portfolio – from infrastructure solutions to strategic consulting services.

What you'll be doing:

  • Building trusted, consultative relationships with senior stakeholders across client organisations by understanding their business pain points and objectives.
  • Articulating how our AI and data solutions address specific industry and organisational challenges, backed by real-world case studies.
  • Driving the full business development lifecycle – from identifying and qualifying leads through to contract signature – in close collaboration with technical delivery teams.
  • Engaging with the partner ecosystem (including Microsoft and OpenAI)
  • Representing the business at industry events and conferences, promoting the AI capabilities and building your network.
  • Travelling for face-to-face client meetings whenever possible – particularly during the early stages of a relationship.

What you'll bring:

  • 5+ years of sales/business development experience in the technology sector.
  • 1-2 years (minimum) of experience specifically selling AI-based solutions or platforms.
  • Proven success in selling bespoke software or infrastructure services
  • The ability to shape and propose innovative solutions to client problems using AI, with support from technical experts.
  • Work with one of the most forward-thinking AI practices in the industry.
