BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATE

Permanent Full Time Position. Based: Harwell [office-based]

Salary: £35,000pa

JOB PURPOSE

The Business Development Associate will play a key role in supporting the sales team by ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the sales process.

ABOUT YOU

You’ll have at least 3 years of relevant experience, gained within a technical engineering or product design environment.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain our CRM database with accurate and up-to-date records, and tracking sales progress
  • Track the sales pipeline, providing regular reports on the status of leads and opportunities
  • Assist with preparing and writing proposals, quotes and other client-facing documents.
  • Research relevant grant opportunities and assist the sales team in writing and submitting grant applications
  • Track our existing client base, and work with senior leaders to ensure that they are regularly engaged, creating opportunities for future business
  • Welcoming clients, signing clients in, providing refreshments, making sure the meeting room is set up in advance of client meetings
  • Assist the sales team with other admin tasks to support the sales process, including research into potential new sectors, preparing meeting materials, and generating regular reports

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

  • Knowledge of product development terminology and project management methodologies
  • Strong written communication skills, able to draft proposals and grant applications
  • Team player, who is comfortable working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
  • A keen eye for detail
  • Competent Microsoft Suite skills, especially Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experienced at database administration
  • Strong at organisation and time management
  • Good at prioritising workload
  • Strong team player who can work both collaboratively and autonomously

We are based in a beautiful historic barn in Harwell, Oxfordshire. There is plenty of on-site parking and the studio is well connected by bus and rail links.

You’ll be allocated ten days of training per year, with a training budget of up to 5% of your annual salary.
