Job Description:
Description

Join one of the UK's most exciting agri-tech businesses, where innovation meets impact. My client is a data insights company transforming how growers understand and optimise crop performance during harvest. Using patented machine learning technology ( MLL) ( AI), fitted to existing harvesting or grading equipment, we provide real-time insights that go far beyond conventional crop sampling.

We’re proud to challenge traditional thinking by applying ideas from other industries into agriculture. Our multi-disciplinary team includes software developers, hardware engineers, scientists, and commercial professionals – all focused on reducing waste, improving crop utilisation, and adding value for growers worldwide.

Your Role: The Business Development Manager

We’re seeking an ambitious and self-driven Business Development Manager to own and scale our sales pipeline — from identifying global prospects to closing deals and nurturing strategic accounts. Based in Lincoln, with opportunities for international travel, you’ll be a key player in accelerating our commercial success.

Key Responsibilities

Lead Generation & Business Development

  • Identify and qualify new commercial opportunities in global agricultural markets.
  • Build and maintain a healthy prospect pipeline using CRM tools, events, referrals, and inbound leads
  • Create and deliver tailored proposals using consultative selling techniques.
  • Conduct meetings (in-person and virtual) to build lasting client relationships and close deals

Sales Strategy & Reporting

  • Deliver accurate sales forecasts and maintain CRM data hygiene
  • Monitor KPIs to refine sales strategy and increase conversion rates

Market Intelligence & Brand Growth

  • Represent HarvestEye at major global exhibitions and events
  • Track market trends and competitor activity to inform outreach and commercial decisions
  • Work closely with our Customer Success and Product teams to ensure messaging aligns with market needs
  • Share insights from the field to help shape product strategy and company roadmap.

What You Bring

We’re looking for a commercially savvy professional who thrives in fast-moving, dynamic environments — someone who’s just as comfortable developing strategy as they are executing it.

  • At least 3 years’ proven experience in sales or business development
  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills; confident, engaging with senior-level stakeholders
  • Experience using CRM systems (, HubSpot, Salesforce)
  • Track record of successful cold outreach, inbound follow-up, and proposal writing
  • Strong commercial acumen and analytical skills (, financial performance, market dynamics)
  • Ability to prioritise, plan and manage workload under pressure
  • Willingness to travel and a valid driving licence
  • Bonus: experience in agri-tech or agricultural sales is advantageous

What You’ll Get

  • Competitive salary + performance-based bonus
  • 26 days annual leave + Bank Holidays
  • Company pension contributions
  • Private medical insurance
  • Group life insurance
  • Enhanced parental leave
  • Sick pay
  • Salary exchange options
  • Access to GroceryAid support & guidance services
