OVERVIEW

The Business Data Specialist is responsible for ongoing business data functions in a manner consistent with the company’s standard procedures for the most efficient and accurate data metrics. This includes data creation and updating to enable the preparation and interpretation of information used for driving SAP functions and making economic decisions.

MAIN DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Act as a safety leader and put safety first in all responsibilities
2. Maintain and track the progress in data quality improvements to support the productive use of data in the SAP system, supporting business process needs.
3. Maintain a strong knowledge of planning and manufacturing procedures to ensure standards are correct and consistently applied to documented policies and procedures.
4. Identify and resolve issues impacting data through root cause analysis and corrective actions.
5. Support the DMS team with specification creation, updates, and general support as required.
6. Assist the Product Data Manager by providing data for analysis, tracking, and reporting to departments and corporate managers.
7. Help develop and maintain documents supporting system controls and procedures to ensure data integrity for reporting and decision-making.
8. Coordinate movement of master data between plants within the business unit.
9. Participate in data cleansing activities to support data quality, integrity, and accuracy.
10. Ensure SAP/DMS data accuracy, integrity, and completeness in areas of responsibility.
11. Maintain a comprehensive understanding of SAP Data requirements, monitor accuracy, and assist in developing data and system corrections.

REQUIREMENTS

• 3+ years of experience working with business functions and data requirements in legacy systems is desirable.
• Knowledge of SAP is advantageous but not required.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
