JOB BAND: C
CONTRACT TYPE: Fixed-term Contract / Attachment, Full-time until March 2027
DEPARTMENT: BBC Cymru Wales Business & Operations
LOCATION: Cardiff – office based 3-5 days a week
PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: £31,000 - £32,500 per annum depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

This role is currently advertised as internal only. Freelancers are eligible to apply if they have been on a Worker Contract (more info here) continuously for 6 months. PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Business Co-ordinator to play a vital role within our team, working closely with operational departments across BBC Wales and a wide range of external partners. The Business Coordinator is responsible for providing efficient operational and administrative support to ensure the smooth running of the business. The role acts as a central point of coordination for IT requests, asset management, and business workflows, ensuring that systems, processes, and resources are effectively managed. Working closely with stakeholders across the organisation, the post holder drives process efficiency, maintains accurate records, and helps deliver a high-quality service by coordinating requests, monitoring workflows, and resolving operational issues in a timely manner.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT
  • Stakeholder Communication & Relationship Management –To work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, supporting the flow of information across the organisation and ensuring business support services are delivered efficiently.
  • IT & Systems Administration – Skilled in coordinating IT requests, managing user access and systems administration, maintaining accurate records, and supporting onboarding, internal moves, and offboarding processes.
  • Reporting & Analysis– Experience producing basic reports, monitoring mandatory training, supporting dashboards, tracking budgets and assets.
  • Provide general policy guidance and advice to support policy compliance working with divisional specialists (e.g., IT, Business Continuity, H&S etc.) as required.
  • Design, document, and continuously improve business process flows and operational workflows with a view to automate.
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
  • Strong organisational capability, managing multiple priorities with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Adaptable and responsive, adjusting effectively to changing operational and business needs.
  • Good analytical skills, with experience of providing MI data reports.
  • Communicates professionally and works collaboratively, contributing positively to team goals and a supportive working culture.
  • Sound knowledge and experience of office software packages (i.e., Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and ability to quickly learn digital systems.
