Barden has been engaged by a global technology company to assist in their search for a Business Controls Transformation Manager to be part of a critical initiative to strengthen their global finance controls environment.

This role is pivotal in ensuring the organisation’s compliance with US accounting and reporting regulations, including SOX, while preparing for future IPO readiness.

In this role, you will ensure alignment with US SOX, US GAAP, and IPO readiness requirements, while collaborating with teams to embed ICFR best practices.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

• Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of business controls to meet US SOX compliance and IPO readiness standards.
• Drive SOX readiness programs, including control documentation, risk assessment, and remediation of deficiencies.
• Partner with IT Controls teams to ensure seamless integration of ITGCs (IT General Controls) and automated controls.
• Manage internal/external stakeholders (Divisional CFOs, CIOs, auditors) to align transformation efforts with US GAAP and PCAOB requirements.
• Identify process improvements and automation opportunities (e.g., GRC tools) to enhance efficiency.
• Prepare auditor-ready documentation and briefings for external auditors (Big 4/PCAOB-regulated audits).

ABOUT THE PERSON:

• Deep expertise in US SOX compliance, ICFR frameworks, and SOX readiness programs (either in industry or Big 4 advisory).
• Strong preference for talent with IPO readiness experience and a track record of scaling controls for public company requirements.
• US GAAP knowledge is essential (experience with PCAOB audits is a plus).
• Proven background in finance transformations (e.g., ERP implementations, GRC rollouts, global process standardization).
• Experience remediating material weaknesses or significant deficiencies in a SOX environment.
• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CPA) with PCAOB audit experience (Big 4 or large multinational).
• Exceptional project management and stakeholder communication skills.
