This dynamic new team will play a key role in delivering large-scale digital, cloud, software, and infrastructure projects, supporting both public and private sector clients. Role

The Business Consultant works with customers and internal teams to understand business needs, define solutions, and drive change across digital transformation programmes. The role requires a strong combination of consulting, analytical, and change management skills to bridge the gap between business strategy and technical delivery, ensuring outcomes deliver maximum value.

Responsibilities

  • Engage with stakeholders to gather and document business requirements, processes, and rules.
  • Analyse requirements to identify gaps, conflicts, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Translate business needs into functional and non-functional requirements for technical teams.
  • Facilitate workshops, interviews, and focus groups to capture business perspectives.
  • Act as the bridge between business stakeholders and technical delivery teams.
  • Produce business requirements documents, user stories, process flows, and acceptance criteria.
  • Support the creation of use cases, business cases, and solution options.
  • Ensure requirements are testable, traceable, and aligned to programme objectives.
  • Communicate findings and recommendations clearly to technical and business audiences.
  • Support solution design by clarifying requirements and validating approaches.
  • Assist QA and testing teams through acceptance criteria definition and UAT support.
  • Participate in project governance, reporting on progress, risks, and issues.

Required experience

  • Experience as a Business Consultant or Business Analyst in IT, digital, or consulting projects.
  • Experience within professional services, enterprise systems, or large transformation programmes.
  • Exposure to Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery methodologies.
  • Familiarity with frameworks such as ITIL, PRINCE2, or Agile certifications desirable.
