ABN AMRO is seeking a Business Compliance Officer in London to oversee compliance risks in the UK Clearing Compliance Department. The role involves managing compliance strategies, providing training, and ensuring adherence to regulatory standards. Ideal candidates will possess strong analytical skills and a CISI Diploma.
The Business Compliance Officer AACB LB and AACL ('BCO') is positioned in the UK Clearing Compliance Department and reports to the Head of Compliance ('HoC') & Money Laundering Reporting Officer ('MLRO') Clearing Compliance UK.
The Clearing compliance function focuses on compliance risks. Its mission is to assist senior management in identifying, assessing, and managing the compliance risks of ABN AMRO's Clearing business line.
It has developed a risk-based approach to ensure that all reasonable measures (including policies, procedures, instructions, IT systems, monitoring, training, objective-setting, incentives, deterrents, and sanctions) are taken to prevent or reduce compliance risks and minimize potential damage.
The department handles all compliance matters for AACB LB and AACL, excluding prudential rules. This includes advice, policy, training, regulatory updates, and monitoring related to financial laws, rules, regulations, codes of conduct, data privacy, and financial crime prevention.
The BCO will uphold the firm's legal, regulatory, and ethical standards; foster collaboration; increase awareness of regulatory issues; provide consistent advice and innovative solutions; and collaborate within the compliance team to achieve desired outcomes.
The responsibilities include supporting the HoC in managing the UK Clearing Compliance function, supporting UK data protection matters, developing the UK Conduct Risk framework, embedding compliance standards, advising on regulatory risk management, deputising at committees, providing training, supporting project compliance, conducting monitoring activities, managing FCA and exchange relationships, reviewing financial promotions, and addressing market abuse risks.

Qualifications include CISI Diploma or equivalent. Strong knowledge of FCA Handbook, exchange rules, and compliance monitoring is essential. Excellent communication skills, conflict resolution, independence, teamwork, assertiveness, analytical thinking, initiative, efficiency focus, organization, understanding of regulatory frameworks, data privacy knowledge, and fluency in English are required.
