The Opportunity

Position: AML Services Business Compliance Officer

Location: Jersey (Hybrid)

We are looking for an AML Services Business Compliance Officer to join our Fiduciary team as part of our financial services business in Jersey.

As part of the global expansion of the Maples Group's financial services offering, our Jersey office opened its doors in January 2019. We have achieved good growth since with the Maples infrastructure and network supporting us to deliver the best-in-class solutions to clients worldwide alongside our colleagues in legal services.

As part of our Jersey Regulatory Compliance team you will be performing the below listed key duties:

  • Acting as the named MLRO and MLCO on relevant client entities where required, attending board meetings, preparing board reports and fulfilling duties as appropriate;
  • Ensuring that each relevant client entity adopts the necessary documents (business risk assessment, compliance monitoring programme and AML/CTF/CPF policies & procedures) and otherwise complies with its obligations under the local AML regime;
  • Co-ordinating the preparation and submission of any annual compliance return for relevant client entities;
  • Undertaking periodic reviews to ensure continued appropriateness of adopted AML/CTF/CPF documentation in conjunction with the relevant client entity board of directors;
  • Co-ordinating any necessary submission with the Jersey Financial Services Commission for the purpose of registrations, de-registrations and updates to client entities.
  • Assisting relevant client owners to understand compliance requirements prior to commencing work and in accordance with all internal procedures;
  • Participating actively in cross-office meetings in order to share and resolve common issues, identifing the risks, determining the resolution process and taking ownership of overseeing the issue to completion, if required.
