Business Change and Technology Project Manager

We are looking for a Business Change and Technology Project Manager to deliver improvement projects, streamline workflows, enhance software use and drive successful adoption of new processes across our growing West End accountancy firm.

THE ROLE

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Business Change & Technology Project Manager to join SRLV, a leading London‑based accountancy firm. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in turning technology and process‑improvement ideas into fully delivered, embedded and adopted changes across the practice. This business‑facing position combines structured project management, clear business analysis and practical change management to drive existing initiatives through to completion, enhance departmental workflows, improve and standardise the use of existing software, and help identify appropriate AI and automation opportunities.

A key focus of the role is reducing unnecessary demands on partners and managers while ensuring professional oversight is maintained. Working closely with the IT Partner, fractional Chief Information Officer and IT Manager, who retains responsibility for day‑to‑day technology operations, infrastructure, support and cybersecurity—the Business Change & Technology Project Manager will ensure that improvements are well‑designed, thoroughly tested and successfully adopted across the firm.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Project Delivery

• Review and assess all current projects, establishing clear scope, status, ownership, risks and outstanding decisions.
• Manage projects agreed by the IT Committee from initial definition through implementation, adoption and final handover.
• Coordinate internal teams and external suppliers to ensure effective delivery and alignment with project objectives.
• Maintain project momentum, proactively escalating delays, resource constraints and unresolved decisions to relevant stakeholders.
• Provide regular reporting on progress, risks, costs and required decisions to project sponsors and the IT Committee.

Initial projects may include FibreCRM, cloud migrations for audit, accounts preparation and tax applications, driving adoption of Xero as the firm’s preferred financial accounting system, inbound post process improvements and credit control enhancements.

Workflow and Business Analysis

• Engage with chargeable and administrative departments to understand existing processes, pain points, duplication and manual effort.
• Map current and proposed workflows to support clear analysis and solution design.
• Translate business needs into structured requirements, implementation plans and measurable outcomes.
• Identify opportunities to simplify, standardise or automate processes to improve efficiency and consistency across the firm.

Software, AI and Automation

• Review the firm’s existing systems to assess consistency, effectiveness and alignment with intended use.
• Identify unused functionality, duplicate systems, workarounds and training gaps.
• Recommend whether issues should be addressed through process change, configuration, integration, automation or new technology.
• Develop and prioritise a pipeline of practical AI and automation opportunities aligned with business needs.
• Coordinate controlled pilots with defined objectives, measurable outcomes and clear evaluation criteria.
• Ensure all solutions incorporate appropriate safeguards relating to confidentiality, personal data, security, accuracy and human oversight.
• Work closely with the IT Manager when assessing, selecting and evaluating potential solutions.

Change and Adoption

• Involve staff and partners in the design, testing and refinement of new processes and systems.
• Prepare clear communications, guidance and training materials to support successful adoption.
• Monitor usage of new systems and processes to ensure correct and consistent application.
• Address poor adoption, workarounds and unintended consequences through targeted interventions.Conduct post implementation reviews to confirm whether expected benefits have been achieved and identify further improvement opportunities.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

To be considered, you should ideally have:

• Proven experience combining business analysis, project management and change delivery, with a strong track record of leading initiatives from definition through implementation and adoption.
  
• Demonstrable experience mapping, analysing and improving operational workflows, including identifying inefficiencies, duplication and manual effort.
• Strong stakeholder‑management and workshop‑facilitation skills, with the ability to engage partners, managers and staff across all departments.
• Ability to challenge established practices constructively, offering clear, evidence‑based recommendations for improvement.
• Experience managing multiple concurrent projects, including coordination of suppliers, management of risks and dependencies, and maintaining delivery momentum.
• Ability to translate business needs into clear requirements, structured plans and practical implementation steps.
• Excellent communication, documentation and organisational skills, with the ability to present complex information in a clear and accessible manner.
• A recognised project management qualification, such as PRINCE2, APM PMQ, AgilePM or equivalent.
  
• Experience working within an accountancy practice or regulated professional‑services environment.
• Familiarity with practice‑management, accounting, CRM or document‑management systems, and how they support operational workflows.
• Practical experience of AI, workflow automation or low‑code solutions, including identifying suitable use cases or supporting pilot activity.
• Understanding of data protection, information security and responsible AI principles, and how they apply to process design and technology adoption.
