What is the role?

We are seeking a Business Assurance Business Partner to support the Business Assurance Manager and Head of Business Assurance in maintaining the first-line review framework for Howden Re.

Business Assurance, part of Business Services, provides independent audit services across the Howden Group. This role involves collaborating with the audit team to deliver audit plans, monitoring findings, and promoting best practices. You will analyze root causes, coach staff, and chair the monthly Business Assurance Committee.

This full-time, permanent position can be remote or based in any UK regional office, preferably Milton Keynes.

What will you be doing?

• Oversee Business Assurance file audits for Reinsurance Divisions.
• Promote best practices and report on poor practices.
• Coach staff and onboard divisions into the BA process.
• Act as liaison within Operating Entities regarding Business Assurance matters.
• Manage projects and contribute to others.

Technical:

• Contribute to the Business Assurance Framework to ensure risk-based assurance.
• Respond to queries from offshore audit teams and the Business.
• Support in relation to Near Misses and provide risk mitigation advice.
• Prepare reports and present findings to senior management.
• Chair the Business Assurance Reinsurance Committee.
• Monitor remedial actions and report progress to the Head of Business Assurance.
• Stay informed of regulatory changes affecting the role.
• Maintain up-to-date records on company systems.

What are we looking for?

• 1-2 years' experience in reinsurance broking, reinsurance audit, or general insurance.
• Strong understanding of regulatory application within reinsurance.
• Knowledge of relevant legislation and regulatory requirements.
• Understanding of reinsurance principles, products, and services.
• Experience in compliance, monitoring, or audit environment is preferred.
