Job description

A top university in London is looking for a Business Assistant to support the Dean. The role will work closely with him, ensuring he is delivering on his commitments efficiently, fully prepared, and briefed for all activities.

The role will lead on the coordination of strategic briefings, speeches, and travel, as well as overseeing the delivery of high-impact strategic projects. It will involve communicating and liaising with boards and external stakeholders, including alumni and industry partners. The role will also work closely with his EA to deliver support.

The position is based in the office 3 days a week (Tuesday is mandatory, other two are flexible). It is an ongoing temporary role until October/November, starting in July. The rate is £31-£36/hour, depending on experience.

What you'll do:
  • Provide high-level strategic and operational support to the Dean
  • Lead the preparation of strategic briefings, speaking notes, reports, and presentations
  • Draft responses and speeches on behalf of the Dean
  • Lead the coordination of the Dean’s strategic travel planning
  • Collaborate closely with the EA to the Dean to produce strategic briefings, papers, and analysis
  • Lead, coordinate, or contribute to key strategic projects on behalf of the Dean
  • Operational leadership for the Board - coordinate communications, agendas, and follow-up actions
  • Track and contribute to the success of strategic projects
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve processes
  • Work closely with the wider Operations team
Who you are:
  • At least 7+ years of experience in a strategic/project lead role
  • Data-driven
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly discreet, organized, and professional
  • Previous experience in higher education is ideal but not necessary
  • Confident working autonomously and as part of a team
