Overview

Nest Invest is on an ambitious journey to become one of the world’s largest asset owners. The Role

To develop this ongoing culture and operational capability, Nest Invest are creating a new Change function. This function will include a critical hire in the form of a Business Architect whose role will be to evolve the Investment business Target Operating Model to enable the organisation to achieve its growth ambitions and strategic goals.

Reporting into the Head of Business Strategy and Change, this key position will take ownership of identifying, analysing and implementing changes to the Nest Invest Operating Model. As Nest Invest grow and develop their in‑house investment capability, you will guide the organisation and its leaders through the evolution of their Operating Model. The role holder will also provide coaching and development to other members of the Change team, to upskill them on business architecture and operating model management.

The Person

We are looking for someone who has:

  • A proven track record of Business Architecture within an Investment Management / Asset Management / Asset Owner environment.
  • Proven experience as a Business Architect Subject Matter Expert within an investment business, owning and developing the Operating Model for that business to support and enable growth through a period of increasing operational complexity and sophistication.
  • Experience of mentoring, guiding and developing other change professionals.
  • A clear ability to effectively manage, influence and partner with a broad range of stakeholders across an investment business, including senior stakeholders (COO, CEO, CIO), change management professionals and wider front office investment professionals (Investment Managers, Analysts, Investment Strategists).

Investment / Asset Management industry experience is essential to add value and drive the development of Nest Invest’s Operating Model in this role.

Directorate / Department Overview

The Investment directorate (Nest Invest) is responsible for investing members’ contributions in order to grow their retirement pots over the long‑term. The responsibilities of the team include:

  • Asset allocation and portfolio risk management
  • Manager selection and monitoring
  • Responsible investment
  • Investment communications
  • Fund administration
  • Investment technology and financial modelling
  • Contributing to the development of the investment proposition

From December 2019, the Nest Investment team was seconded into Nest Invest Ltd (Nest Invest), the investment subsidiary of Nest Corporation. Nest Invest is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). For the role holder, this means working in a regulated entity, and being required to adhere to certain rules and behaviours included in the FCA’s Code of Conduct (COCON), specifically the individual Conduct Rules defined by the FCA.
