Qualifications

  • Relevant degree or vocational qualification in Business or Marketing.
  • Level 2 qualifications in English and Maths.

Job description

Location: Isle of Wight College (Newport Campus)

Salary: £28,747 - £34,249 per annum dependent on experience

Contract: 39 hours per week, permanent

We are seeking an inspirational individual to join our team as a Business and Marketing Lecturer. This position represents an exciting opportunity to be part of a forward-thinking team shaping the future of vocational and technical education in Business and Marketing.

About The Role:

The Business and Marketing Lecturer will play a key role in the planning, delivery and assessment of high-quality teaching across the new T Level in Marketing and Level 2 Business programmes. The post holder may also contribute to the delivery of business and marketing content within the Level 2 and Level 3 Esports qualifications, supporting cross-curricular collaboration where appropriate.

This role is central to the department’s expanding provision and requires subject expertise in both Business and Marketing, alongside a commitment to delivering engaging, inclusive and industry-relevant teaching. The successful candidate will support students to achieve their full potential, contribute to curriculum development, and uphold high standards of teaching, learning and assessment.

Key Responsibilities:

·To plan and deliver lessons to a range of classes, maintaining a high-quality student learning experience

·To formally assess, giving appropriate feedback (written and oral) and maintaining records of student’s progress and development

·Undertaking academic tutorial duties, supporting students on an individual basis through academic difficulties

·Liaising with internal and external stakeholders to secure and maintain successful relationships

About you:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

·Level 2 qualifications in English and Maths

·A degree/HND or equivalent vocational/professional qualification in Business, Marketing or other relevant subject

·Hold an endorsed teaching qualification, or be willing to work towards

·Knowledge of raising retention and achievement for curriculum areas

·A working knowledge of a student focused environment is desirable, but not essential
