Job summary

Airbus Operations Limited offers an internship in the Tooling and Metrology domain, focused on Wing Jig Recertification and metrology tasks. You will work with cross-functional teams to drive improvements and gain hands-on experience with Airbus technologies.

You will learn SAP integration, KPI development, and data analysis while contributing to project delivery and continuous improvement across the plant.

Qualifications

• Currently studying toward a degree in Computer Science, Business, Project Management, Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities with a proactive mindset.

What you will be doing:

You will delve into the Tooling and Metrology world within Airbus, using your skills to collaborate with teams and drive change and improvement. Your role will place you at the heart of Wing Jig Recertification, Wing Metrology Measurements, and critical aircraft machining tasks. You will gain comprehensive knowledge of all Airbus variants due to our diverse operations. You will interact with various individuals both within the team and across the plant, managing projects related to Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, People, Continuous Improvement, and Strategy. Your ideas and support will also play a valuable part in defining our long term strategy, including the introduction of new technologies. Working with different areas of the business will help you to develop presentation, networking and stakeholder management skills that will be required and will be valuable in future career opportunities. You will also learn about Airbus Operating Systems and Lean principles which will be at the forefront of all projects to ensure the best possible outcomes can be achieved.

During this placement, the activities you may undertake will include:

• Strategic Thinking: Ability to contribute to long-term strategic planning, including the introduction of new technologies and process improvements;
• Project Delivery: Strong organisational skills with the capability to manage and deliver multiple projects effectively across Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, People, and Continuous Improvement;
• Data Studio KPI Development: Proficiency in developing data studio dashboards for critical business KPIs, enabling informed decision-making;
• SAP Integration: Willingness to learn and engage with SAP systems to support operational efficiency and data management;

Requirements:

Our placements are open to Undergraduates only. Therefore it is mandatory for candidates to be an undergraduate for the whole duration of the placement. SECURITY CLEARANCE:

You will be subject to a BPSS (Baseline Personnel Security Standard) check. You may also need to gain UK SC-level Security Clearance or Export Control, depending on the role.
