Job description

Business Analyst - Underwriting Workbench essential

London-based Underwriting Workbench Business Analyst role, with 3 days per week onsite and the remainder remote. The Underwriting Workbench (UWB) Business Analyst will be vital in gathering requirements, securing business sign-off, and leading the implementation of a new underwriting workbench for MS AUL. This role demands a strong understanding of Lloyd's market operations, underwriting processes, and change management methodologies. The individual will work closely with stakeholders such as the Programme Manager, Lead Business Analyst, Product Owner, underwriters, operations teams, technology providers, and external vendors, contributing to the second phase of the Underwriting Workbench implementation at MS Amlin.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Refining requirements in collaboration with third-party analysis
  • Gathering requirements and managing stakeholders
  • Process mapping and gap analysis
  • Contributing to user journeys and workflow design
  • Collaborating with the IT department on data and integration needs
  • Defining and ensuring regulatory and compliance checks (e.g., sanctions, conduct risk, underwriting authority limits)
  • Planning UAT testing and developing test scripts
  • Supporting change management to transition users from legacy to new systems
  • Participating actively in Agile ceremonies and using Jira for workflow management
Ideal Candidate Profile:
  • Experience in requirements gathering, process mapping, gap analysis, and stakeholder management
  • Excellent communication skills, ability to challenge assumptions, detail-oriented, adaptable to ambiguity and shifting priorities
  • Understanding of Lloyd's and the London market
  • Experience implementing workbenches or policy administration systems
  • Technical skills including data analysis, integration, and Agile methodologies
  • Proficiency with documentation tools like JIRA and Visio
  • Experience supporting testing activities and documentation
  • Effective communication across business and technical teams
  • Experience working with third-party vendors throughout the development lifecycle
