Business Analyst - Project & Programme Team (Lockton Re), London

Lockton Re is building out a Business Technology team and requires a Business Analyst to help define and mature the services and standards provided. The role involves assisting in the delivery of project portfolios and providing leadership with insights and assurances for successful project execution.

Reporting directly to the Business Technology team and collaborating with business leads and stakeholders, the Business Analyst will be responsible for collecting, understanding, documenting, and representing business requirements to facilitate fully digital processes. The application portfolio includes Salesforce, OpenTwins, Whitespace, and other proprietary systems.

This diverse role offers opportunities to leverage existing skills and acquire new ones.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with business leads and teams to identify technology gaps, understand business needs, and define requirements and user stories for development.
  • Review and identify opportunities to optimize current business capabilities and processes to enhance efficiency.
  • Partner with technical leads, vendors, and development teams to prioritize and implement requirements.
  • Perform configuration or development tasks, such as making changes in Salesforce.
  • Lead the development lifecycle from defining business needs to delivering solutions that meet those needs.
  • Oversee user acceptance testing, providing training and documentation as needed.
  • Support implementation and quality assurance activities to ensure solutions align with business expectations.
  • Maintain a focus on the business user experience and customer/client satisfaction.
  • Advocate for change and apply best practices in business analysis to support continuous improvement.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Solid understanding of the insurance/reinsurance industry.
  • Proven experience as a high-performing Business Analyst.
  • Effective communication skills with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to analyze business needs and translate them into clear requirements.
  • Experience in business process and gap analysis, identifying opportunities for optimization.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and delivery focus when implementing changes.
  • Proactive attitude with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Experience with London Market Brokers.
  • Experience in system implementations and business change initiatives.
