Business Analyst | Power & Gas SME | £800/Day OUTside IR35 | Energy Trading – 6 months rolling | Hybrid

We are seeking a Business Analyst SME in the Power trading space for a commodities & energy trading firm, specializing in physical & derivative trading. As the company expands and introduces new products in line with regulatory changes, an ETRM SME Business Analyst is needed to manage the project lifecycle, including business requirements analysis, functional specification, testing, and UAT support.

The ideal candidate will leverage their deep knowledge of the European power market, ETRMs, and middle- to back-office systems to ensure the successful delivery of business and technology changes. Strong BA skills are essential to extract and map requirements in Azure DevOps with sufficient detail for development teams.

This role involves performing testing to validate system functionalities, collaborating with Program Managers and stakeholders, and driving continuous improvement through post-implementation reviews.

This role offers up to £800/Day OUTside IR35.

3 days per week in the office

Based in London

Candidates should have demonstrable knowledge of traded derivative products for ETD and OTC, along with proficiency in Azure DevOps and ETRM.

Responsibilities include:

• Analyzing and optimizing existing systems, focusing on European power trading and sales.
• Understanding the power deal lifecycle: trade capture, risk management, scheduling, invoicing, and settlements.
• Engaging with stakeholders to define and document requirements, ensuring alignment with trading strategies.
• Liaising with architecture teams across Sales IT and Trading IT domains.
• Participating in testing phases (unit, QA, UAT) to ensure system functionality.
