Business Analyst - GIS (Esri Utility Network Model)

Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced Business Analyst with GIS expertise, specifically in Esri's Utility Network Model (UNM), to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in GIS solutions, utility data modeling, and business process analysis. You will work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements, optimize GIS workflows, and support the implementation of Esri's UNM for utility networks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with stakeholders to gather business requirements related to GIS and Esri's Utility Network Model.
  • Analyze existing GIS workflows and propose improvements for efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
  • Support the migration and implementation of Esri UNM, ensuring smooth integration with existing systems.
  • Collaborate with IT and GIS teams to define data models, schema configurations, and network rules within Esri UNM.
  • Document business and functional requirements, process flows, and system interactions.
  • Assist in testing, validation, and troubleshooting of GIS applications, ensuring alignment with business needs.
  • Provide training and support to end-users on Esri's UNM capabilities and best practices.
  • Stay updated on Esri's latest GIS technologies and industry trends, providing recommendations for continuous improvements.
Desirable skills and experience
  • Business Analyst with GIS experience, including working with Esri's Utility Network Model.
  • Technical Skills: Strong understanding of Esri ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Pro, and Esri's Utility Network Model.
  • Industry Knowledge: Experience in utilities (electric, water, gas, or telecom) and GIS data management.
  • Data & Integration: Familiarity with spatial databases, geospatial analysis, and integration with enterprise systems.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Ability to communicate effectively with GIS teams, IT developers, and business users.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills to assess business processes and recommend GIS-driven solutions.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Python, SQL, or ModelBuilder for GIS automation.
  • Knowledge of cloud-based GIS solutions (e.g., Esri ArcGIS Online, Esri Geospatial Cloud).
  • Understanding of utility network configurations, asset management, and network tracing.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and tools like JIRA.
