Job description

What's the role

As the Business Analyst - Endur, you will have the opportunity to engage in the expanding LNG and Energy businesses, experiencing numerous new and unique challenges. Your role involves collaborating with business and IT teams to deliver solutions for projects or enhancements, primarily using DevOps methodologies. You will be responsible for understanding business issues, analyzing impacts, recommending and implementing solutions, and resolving incidents. You will work on project and application support teams, covering various aspects of the BA lifecycle, and may also support turnkey/SaaS solutions and prototype new technologies. All activities will adhere to enterprise guidelines and processes.

What you'll be doing

As the BA-Endur, you will play an integral role in supporting a global team, primarily collaborating with the Shell Energy business. This includes the domestic gas and power marketing sectors in North America, Europe, Asia, and Australia, as well as the Global LNG (SLMT) business.

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
  1. Capture and document user requirements into specifications, from inputs from subject matter experts and Design Authority.
  2. Understanding business requirements, to pilot and prototype new solutions and technologies, including procurement, setup, demonstration and deployment coordination.
  3. Support Projects and Support teams in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including Requirements Gathering, Analysis, Design, Testing, Implementation, and Production support for software systems.
  4. Determine and design solutions that are scalable and sustainable for a global business.
  5. Establish and maintain stakeholder satisfaction levels. Build and develop strong trust relationships with the stakeholders demonstrated through clearly owning, resolving, and communicating issues and problems.
  6. Contribute/participate in local and global IT community activities.

What you bring

Experience Needed
  1. Proven success in providing application support within a corporate environment.
  2. Full life cycle BA experience in project roles.
  3. Experience supporting a diverse application landscape, including change management, application testing, data integrity management, patch management, and end-user support and training.
  4. Experience designing or modifying business-critical reports/processes to maximize technology solutions.
  5. Required experience in the Power and Energy trading industry.
  6. Understanding of valuation and pricing models for energy commodities.
  7. Commodity experience with Power, Natural Gas, LNG, or NGL.

Skills:
  1. Expertise in Energy Trading and prior experience with Energy Trading systems Business Analysis.
  2. Knowledge of BA life cycle and application support.
  3. Understanding of mature software design/architectures and software quality management.
  4. Ability to work independently in a competitive environment with flexibility and understanding.
  5. Managing multiple delivery priorities and demand requests.
  6. Proficiency in virtual, cross-functional, cross-cultural teams.
  7. Experience with Openlink Endur.
  8. Familiarity with Microsoft Azure DevOps tools (e.g., VSTS).
  9. Knowledge of Software Engineering processes (e.g., Configuration Management, Change Management, Release Management).

Valued Additional Accreditations:
  1. ERP, FRM certifications issued by GARP.
  2. CFA certification.
  3. BA skills-related certifications.
