Job description

The Vacancy

Here at Optum we have a day rate contract opportunity for an experienced Business Analyst to join our highly capable and talented Community Pharmacy product team until the end of 2025.

Responsible for products in over 5,200 pharmacies, we are looking for a BA to take a proactive approach in working with our user research and product team to create and deliver detailed requirements.

As a BA you will have previous experience delivering and capturing the "To Be" requirements within pharmacy operations, specifically dispensing processes.

Please note this is an inside IR35 day rate contract until the end of December 2025 and whilst this is a remote working role, you will meet with our wider product team on a monthly basis.

What you'll do

As a Business Analyst, we will be looking for you to work closely with the User Researchers and Product team to identify and document opportunities within Proscript system to make our customers workflow ever more efficient. You will provide consistent knowledge for the product team and gain a deep understanding of customer and business requirements to develop the product strategy, roadmap and features.

You will be responsible for capturing different variations of user workflow to document into features for the product design team. Responsible for working cross-functionally within the community pharmacy team, you will collaborate with Product owners to break down features into user stories.

Other key responsibilities and accountabilities will include;

  • Analyse and document customer and user requirements to support the product team in developing the product roadmap.
  • Analyse and document systems, processes and procedures in order to support the product team in designing new features.
  • Analyse product data to identify trends, patterns, and insights that inform product and strategic decisions.
Who you'll be

You will be a proven and seasoned BA with experience in the Community Pharmacy industry, through this industry experience, you will understand and previously documented pharmacy dispensing workflows or processes. With knowledge of SDLC you will be able to document detailed requirements for development teams.

With the ability to communicate and document findings to the wider business, you will demonstrate previous experience of innovating concepts into requirements. Having worked with product teams as BA, you will have exposure to working with Product Designers to answer queries that inform design solutions.

Technical skills we are looking for you to demonstrate include;
  • Previous experience in the community pharmacy industry, specifically dispensing workflows.
  • Excellent documentation skills, with experience of documenting systems and requirements.
  • Experience in agile methodologies and working within cross-functional teams.
