Job summary

Charles River Development (CRD) is seeking a Senior Business Analyst to join the Middle Office team to collaborate with clients and developers on improving the CRD Investment Management System. The role focuses on delivering feature-rich solutions across asset classes and supporting the full software lifecycle.

They will become a product expert, translate client needs into requirements, and contribute to API/integration work while supporting agile delivery and client training on new releases.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of software development lifecycle experience, with Agile preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Advanced writing skills to abstract/summarize detailed information.
  • Strong analytical skills to reconcile conflicting data.
  • Ability to translate customer business needs into application requirements.
  • Knowledge of middle office investment management functions and APIs.

Responsibilities

  • Apply detailed knowledge of business requirements and workflows to assist in product development.
  • Research and produce business and technical requirement documents.
  • Provide product expertise support to internal parties to ensure product meets customer expectations.
  • Gather product requirements with customers and management; contribute to all software product life cycle stages.
  • Technical acumen with APIs, state stores, and integration utilities.
  • Collaborate with development to implement and refine features.
  • Plan and schedule validation tasks; perform manual tests; develop verification plans.
  • Provide feedback on product performance and documentation quality.
  • Support client beta testing and train personnel on new releases.
  • Assist with project schedules, milestones and delivery.
  • Support implementation and escalate client issues as needed.
  • Participate in Agile SCRUM ceremonies and group testing.

  • The Chares River Development Middle Office team is looking to hire a Senior Business Analyst who will be responsible for working with clients and development to create solutions to improve the client experience, the product feature set, and the strategic position of the CRD Investment Management System.
  • The Senior Business Analyst will become a Charles River product expert and help to ensure that our software products effectively aid our end users with their trading and front office workflows. In consultation with our financial industry clients and internal product teams, they will utilize business and technical knowledge to improve product performance and competitive advantages.
  • The Senior Business Analyst will work within a specific module of the product and several instrument types (equity, fixed income, derivatives, FX, etc.), participating in the full software development lifecycle and contributing as a member of a feature-focused product development team
  • They must be familiar with both financial and technical concepts, with a strong ability to deliver against specific requirement in a timely fashion on a project by project basis.
Responsibilities
  • Apply detailed knowledge of business requirements and workflows to assist in product development

  • Provide product expertise support to various internal parties to ensure the product meets customer expectations
  • Work directly with customers and product management team to gather product requirements and develop feature specifications; involvement in all aspects of the software product life cycle
  • Technical acumen and experience with building APIs, state stores, and integration utilities
  • Partner with development to help develop, implement, and refine features
  • Plan and schedule validation tasks; provide hands-on manual tests; develop verification plans and processes
  • Provide feedback on product performance
  • Review documentation to ensure accurate and complete documentation
  • Provide client beta testing support and train personnel on capabilities of new product releases
  • Assist with the management of project schedules and deliverables
  • Assist implementation and support to resolve escalated client issues
  • Actively participate in the Agile software development process by adhering to the CRD Scrum Methodology including attending all daily standups, sprint planning, backlog grooming, and retrospectives.
  • Participate in group testing activities as needed.
