Description

The goal of Amazon Logistics (AMZL) is to build a world-class last mile operation. Amazon aims to exceed customer expectations by ensuring quick, accurate, and cost-effective deliveries. The Capacity Planning Team provides AMZL with cost-optimal and flexible capacity solutions for in-station operations, supporting year-round and seasonal peak demand increases. This role is based at the London corporate office LHR16.

As an Analyst in the Capacity Planning Team, you will support AMZL's fast growth by translating strategic questions into insights and forecasts, directly impacting decision-making to improve planning quality and processes. This position requires high judgment, analytical skills, and creativity, with exposure to various business, operational, financial, and technical teams across Amazon. Key job responsibilities
  1. Provide central guidance and projections for weekly planning inputs.
  2. Translate strategic questions into projects, identifying requirements and stakeholders.
  3. Develop insights from historical trends, produce reports, and share findings with senior leadership.
  4. Design scalable execution plans for long-term strategic opportunities.
A day in the life
  • Engage with analytical leaders working on complex business problems.
  • Collaborate with business partners to understand problems and develop analytical solutions.
  • Develop and deploy analytical solutions, from data pipelines to reports, and communicate insights through reports or presentations.
  • Participate actively in Scrum sprints to achieve team goals.
Basic qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Econometrics.
  • Previous analytical work experience.
  • Strong data analysis skills, with the ability to interpret and draw conclusions from data.
  • Experience in mathematical modeling (statistics, optimization, econometrics).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to simplify complex topics.
  • Team player capable of working across locations.
  • Creative thinker with innovative problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred qualifications
  • Experience with SQL for data extraction and ETL pipelines.
  • Visualization tools experience: Quicksight, Tableau, or similar.
  • Scripting experience: R, Python, or C++.
  • Optional: Experience with AWS solutions like S3, Athena, Sagemaker.
