Business Analyst | Allegro | ETRM Experience | Investment Banking | £95,000 | Hybrid

The Business Analyst role is focused on supporting an investment bank's trading operations, covering both physical and financial trade portfolios. This position involves enhancing and optimizing Energy Trading and Risk Management (ETRM) systems, requiring expertise in trading valuations (e.g., pricing, P&L, MTM, and risk) and hands-on experience with ETRM platforms. A highly motivated and organized individual, the Business Analyst will work closely with business stakeholders, develop detailed documentation such as user story backlogs, and communicate effectively across technical and non-technical teams. The role also utilizes tools like Confluence, JIRA, and ZEPHYR to manage and track work.

Salary - £120,000 per annum

Hybrid Working - 3 days per week in office

Location - London Based

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with users to identify needs, create mock-ups or test cases to clarify requirements, and perform hands-on system or data analysis to propose solutions.
• Document system change requests in a JIRA backlog, break down and estimate changes with the IT Delivery Team, and conduct prioritization/status update meetings.
• Serve as a functional expert during development and testing, perform functional testing, and work with QA to create and execute test plans/scripts for SIT and regression.
• Facilitate training and user acceptance testing (UAT), support release planning and go-live activities, and create user documentation.
• Provide hypercare and 3rd line support by assisting users with queries, analyzing problems, and escalating fixes into the change backlog.
• Coordinate cross-team actions, track progress across IT and business teams, and ensure successful delivery of projects and small changes.

Key Skills:

• At least 5 years of experience as an IT Business Analyst specializing in ETRM systems, gained within a trading house, investment bank, or a tier-1 vendor/consultancy.
• In-depth knowledge of commodities trading, including physical markets such as LNG, Coal, Freight, or Oil, with strong expertise in Allegro Horizon for valuations (pricing, P&L, MTM, risk exposure).
• Proven experience analyzing trade and market data using tools like SQL, PowerQuery, and Excel.
