Business Analyst - 12 Months Fixed Term Contract, Surface Transportation Analytics

DESCRIPTION

We are looking for an experienced Business Analyst to help setup and deliver robust, structured reporting, and analytics for all areas included in the Amazon Transportation Services (ATS) organisation, such as Air, Line-haul and Sortation. You will be a key contributor to shaping our strategic streams by equipping the business with tools and insights to drive different projects and make business decisions.
The growth of the business and the increasing complexity of the European transportation network make this role an exciting and challenging proposition.

You will have an eye for detail, be proficient in SQL/Python, and have a knack for solving challenging data and reporting issues. The role requires you to feel comfortable working with and clearly communicating with other functional teams, regionally and globally.

You would be a great fit for this role if you:

  2. Can solve complex analytical problems and draw conclusions from large data sets

Key job responsibilities
  1. Collecting, analyzing and coordinating quantitative data and creating meaningful reports/dashboards to define business improvement and cost reductions
  2. Root cause analysis and uncovering core issues using data, then assisting the business to improve and create new measures
  3. Recommending, developing, and implementing policies, processes and programs that guide the organization in maintaining and improving its current position and profitability
  4. Establishing and maintaining accurate operating and business metrics
  5. Providing and communicating reporting and analysis to senior stakeholders
  6. Developing the right performance indicators and maintaining them at scale
  7. Working with data source providers and technology teams to ensure that key decision data is accurate, automated, and timely
  8. Handling complex priorities and providing level-headed guidance during ambiguous/unexpected events.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  1. Experience in tax, finance or a related analytical field
  2. Experience writing complex Excel VBA macros
  3. Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  4. Experience defining requirements and using data and metrics to draw business insights
  5. Experience with SQL or ETL

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  1. Experience working with Tableau
  2. Experience using very large datasets
