Business Analyst
Salary: upto £45,000 dependant on experience

An exciting opportunity has arising with the business analysis team. Individuals operating within this role are competent in the provision of the core BA Services under general guidance and direction from the Senior Business Analyst:
Core Services
- Requirements Definition - Elicit, analyse, validate and document requirements for business and IT change initiatives.
- Stakeholder Management Engage, build relationships, run effective workshops and set expectations with stakeholders, from operational teams to senior management and external suppliers.
- Business Process Engineering Review As-Is business processes and develop new methods to improve productivity, efficiency, and operational costs.
- Solution Verification - Evaluate the proposed solution to assess the degree of fit in which it satisfies the business needs.
- Business Change Deployment - Support the deployment of business and IT changes to ensure a smooth transition.
What the role will look like
- Understand and model business processes, workflows and systems using best practice techniques.
- Work collaboratively with a variety of technical and non-technical stakeholders to fully capture and analyse functional and non-functional requirements and be able to re-present them back in a clear and concise manner to achieve acceptance and sign off.
- Challenge the rationale and priority of requirements to ensure they meet the actual needs of the business, both tactically and strategically.
- Define change requests for internal and external software developers.
- On larger projects, support the project initiation, business case and tender processes.
- Analyse the impact of software solutions and changes to software on the business operation.
- Support test teams where required to develop an understanding of business requirements and wider business context that they support.
- Support the coaching of Junior Business Analysts, as part of the project.
- Undertake key project activities including business requirements documentation, detailed process definition, and feasibility studies.
- The job holder will be defining requirements for business processes and systems which shape the way our business operations will run in a number of key areas and must be capable of:
- Accurately documenting business requirements.
- Preparing and conducting meetings, facilitating workshops, and presenting to both managers and business users.
- Leading user workshops.
- Ensure awareness of new legislative changes.
- Understand the budget impact when processing change requests.
What you will bring to the role
- Excellent written and oral communication skills are required, combined with an ability to challenge and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organisation. In particular, the jobholder will be required to interact with:
- Management and staff throughout the Society,
- Technical and non-technical staff.
- Third party suppliers and delivery partners providing IT services to WBBS.
Examples of communications are managing system documentation reviews, discussing system changes with suppliers, maintaining regular contact with business areas on system issues and changes.
- Previous experience as a Business Analyst is required with a proven practical experience gained within a business analysis environment, including experience of working with a range of business analysis tools and techniques.
- Ability to understand complex business processes across a wide range of business areas.
- The jobholder must have the ability to understand at a detailed level how computer systems support the business operations, and how data supports these processes and operations.
- The jobholder must have experience of working with and co-ordinating 3rd party suppliers.
- A high degree of personal motivation and initiative is required.
- The job holder will be required to work as part of a team planning and managing activities within small and large projects, within which there will be a large number of timing dependencies. This could include overseeing the work of others.
- The jobholder will be expected to work on multiple projects, and report formally into the project reporting process.
