Job description

In this role, you'll collaborate and lead user story analysis. A typical day will include writing code, API specs, conducting code reviews, testing, and/or completing proof-of-concepts to adopt new technologies.

What You'll Do

1. Perform hands-on software engineering & testing
2. Develop an understanding of the technical requirements needed based on industry trends, new technologies, known defects & issues
3. Write code, API specs, review and test code, proof concepts, and automation tools
4. Perform ongoing refactoring of code to drive continuous improvement in structure and quality
5. Use visualization and other techniques to fast-track concepts
6. Coordinate with the technical product manager to prioritize items in the product backlog for ongoing sprints
7. Mentor 2-3 engineers on software development environment, code reviewing, best practices, and architectural standards

What We're Looking For

1. Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science or related technical field
2. 3+ years of experience in software development, including agile, object-oriented design, across various platforms
3. Experience with responsive web design (RWD)
4. Experience with distributed systems, algorithms, message queuing, and relational/XML databases
5. Innovative thinking to tackle sophisticated or under-defined problems
6. Passion for learning new technology in a fast-paced environment
7. Strong verbal and written communication skills
