The Role

James Fisher & Sons Plc (JFS) is undergoing a major transformation of key business systems, with a strong emphasis on divisional ERP implementations. We are looking for an experienced IT Business Analyst who will be the vital link between the Group IT function and JFS business objectives by supporting and ensuring the successful completion of mapping as-is processes, analysing versus best practice building, testing and deployment tasks of software features. This person should also be committed to the discovery and development of innovative solutions in an ever-changing digital landscape.

Principle Accountabilities

  • Facilitates the optimisation of product line (PL) performance by enhancing the alignment between business processes and information technology.
  • Participates in continuous review and update to ensure that processes meet changing product line conditions.
  • Translates high level business requirements into functional specifications and manages changes to such specifications.
  • Key member of the ERP and other business systems implementation teams.
  • Negotiates agreements and commitments by facilitating communication between PLs and Group IT from initial requirements to final implementation.
  • Remove over-reliance on PL subject matter experts during the ERP implementation project by having a thorough, documented understanding of the product line process flows and requirements.
  • Runs workshops and documents output.
  • Creates documents to outline the proposed changes and the steps involved.
  • Contributes to training and support for people affected by new systems and processes.
  • Works in close collaboration with other functions to ensure seamless co-ordination when engaging with PLs on process improvement initiatives.

  • Experience working with complex data flows and systems.
  • Strong analytical skills to evaluate business needs and develop appropriate IT solutions.
  • Experience in generating process documentation and reports.
  • Excellent communication skills, with an ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Ability to influence decision-making and drive change within the organization.
