Job overview

Exciting opportunities have arisen for highly motivated and experienced Business Analysts to join the Digital Transformation Team. As an integral part of the Digital & Data Directorate in CTM, the team have a rapidly expanding portfolio of challenging and interesting projects, including electronic prescribing and medicines administration, transforming patient contact services and several smaller projects supporting direct care.

Under the guidance of the Head of Digital Business Change and Benefits, working closely with Projects, SMEs and Clinical Systems Manager , the successful candidate will be expected work with our end -users and suppliers to support the gathering of requirements, solution design and the streamlining of processes to improve the outcomes of our patients, citizens and families that we serve, as outlined in the Health Board's strategy CTM 2030.

Candidates will be expected to have experience of working within a complex digital transformation health environment. Skills include; Requirements elicitation, process mapping, software development lifecycle and excellent communication skills.

As a proactive and positive member of the team, the post holder will play a key role in supporting the implementation of key transformation project objectives which will enable and support the vital work of Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board (CTMUHB).

This post is fixed term/secondment for 3 years until 31st March 2028, due to project work in either PCCT or Mental Health. If you are interested in applying for the secondment position, you must obtain permission from your current line manager prior to applying for this post.

Qualifications & Knowledge
Essential criteria

  • Educated to Masters level (or equivalent qualification / experience)
  • Familiar with modelling and analysis tools (e.g. Enterprise Architect), methods and standards (e.g. UML, BPMN).
  • In-depth knowledge of business modelling techniques and experience in obtaining input from and communicating modelling results to senior managers for agreement.
Desirable criteria
  • Possess (or working towards) a recognised Business Analysis professional qualification (such as BCS International Diploma in Business Analysis)
  • Working knowledge of the NHS and national developments and policy initiatives
Experience
Essential criteria
  • Experience of applying a variety of analytical techniques to information and quantifying result integrity based upon assessment of sources and techniques applied.
  • Experience of consulting activities and techniques including facilitating stakeholder groups.
  • Experience of process analysis, assessment and change including financial, cultural, technological, organisational and environmental factors. Further experience of establishing customer requirements and identifying how these map to process requirements.
  • Experience in defining, documenting and working on projects across all phases either alone or with a small team.
  • Experience of establishing and maintaining a data structure using data analysis and data modelling techniques.
Skills & Attributes
Essential criteria
  • Highly organised, with the ability to work to agreed goals, in a self-directed and professional manner.
  • Demonstrable excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to negotiate successful outcomes with senior personnel.
  • Must be able to travel to all sites as required by the role
  • Highly experienced in influencing and negotiation skills including critical questioning and innovative thinking.
  • Excellent faciltation skills within a Healthcare setting
