This role is mainly remote but requires flexibility to travel to client sites and our offices in Bristol, Sheffield, and London.

Requirements

As a Business Analyst, you will act as a translator between stakeholders and the delivery team, working closely with multidisciplinary teams on client projects. Your responsibilities include driving initiation, planning, and implementation aligned with client goals and strategy. When not on client projects, you may improve internal practices, support bids, or provide consultancy based on your expertise.

• Understanding complex delivery processes and translating them into clear communications and documentation to facilitate development and maximize value.
• Engaging with stakeholders to gather needs and translate them into usable requirements.
• Collaborating with technical teams to understand constraints and resolve blockers.
• Mapping current processes, gathering feedback, and identifying pain points and improvements.
• Designing future processes, conducting gap analyses, and recommending changes.
• Using data modeling to analyze findings and suggest strategic and operational improvements.
• Documenting risks, opportunities, benefits, and costs.
• Providing data-driven recommendations and communicating their benefits to stakeholders.
• Creating visual and written reports to support findings and stakeholder presentations.
• Supporting clients in implementing recommended changes and resolving issues.

Ideal Skills and Experience

• Experience eliciting requirements through workshops, interviews, workflow mapping, etc.
• Knowledge of the defense industry (preferred).
• Experience with Business Analysis planning and monitoring, including Requirement Traceability Matrices.
• Proficiency in managing Epics, User Stories, and product backlogs.
• Ability to write scenario-based acceptance criteria.
• Experience working in Agile teams using tools like Jira, Azure DevOps, or Trello.
• Structured analysis, modeling, and documentation skills using recognized tools.
• Knowledge of BI tools like Power BI or Tableau.
• Understanding relational database modeling, SQL, ETL, and automation scripting.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS.
• Awareness of Data Science, AI, and big data principles.
• Ability to work independently in a deadline-driven environment.
• Capability to set business metrics for evaluating solutions.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., IIBA, BCS).

Desirable Skills

• Experience with T-SQL, Python, R, or similar programming languages.
• Knowledge of Data Governance, Data Architecture, and ITIL.
• Understanding User-Centered Design and Service Design standards.
