Our public sector client is seeking a Business Analyst.

The role is not remote-working, but will include home-working. There is an expectation to work some of the time out of the office (Lewes) for team meetings.

Responsibilities include:
  • Creating and understanding process maps
  • Stakeholder engagement
  • User Acceptance Testing (UAT) script development

The role focuses on building close relationships with the business to identify options for improving processes and business systems. It involves understanding business needs and working with stakeholders to address them, often through process re-engineering or better use of IT systems. The role requires skills in business analysis techniques and project management, acting as a bridge between the business community and ICT teams.

This role also supports integration and acceptance testing, develops training materials and guidance documentation, participates in implementation, and provides post-implementation support. It contributes to delivering programmes of work and ensuring high-quality ICT services to meet departmental, service, and personal performance targets, including key performance indicators.

Key tasks include:
Analysis, Reporting & Documentation
  • Review business support systems, processes, and procedures to understand customer needs
  • Elicit and analyze information to define customer requirements using various tools
  • Document requirements clearly and concisely
Service Delivery
  • Provide specialist advice and assistance to maximize service quality, efficiency, and continuity
Planning & Organizing
  • Monitor service objectives and standards within own area
  • Plan and prioritize work activities to ensure operational efficiency
  • Respond to changing demands by adjusting priorities
Finance/Resource Management
  • Assist in budget and resource management following organizational policies
Collaboration
  • Liaise and build relationships with internal departments, partners, and contractors
  • Undertake projects and reviews to support service delivery
People Management
  • Maintain operational efficiency and service quality in own area
  • Act as a main contact for specific processes or systems, possibly for senior staff
