Job summary

Pro Talent is seeking a Business Analyst in the City of London. The role sits within Corporate Finance & Advisory, offering hybrid working with an embedded client-facing focus and exposure from day one.

You will work on valuations, cashflow forecasting and capital raises, with an emphasis on advisory, not just compliance. The team values technical strength and hands-on deal experience.

Qualifications

• ACA or ACCA qualified or part-qualified, or an analyst with equivalent experience
• Strong Excel modelling, ability to build models from scratch
• Experience in valuations, capital raises, and advisory and reporting

Responsibilities

• Business valuations, including EMI option and growth share projects
• Build and maintain cashflow and forecast models
• Support debt and equity capital raises, including IMs and investor targeting
• Handle R&D tax credit claims and develop the service line
• Assist with EIS/SEIS applications for investment rounds
• Provide transaction support: share issues, structuring and documentation
• Generate MI for clients' finance functions

Business Analyst

Corporate Finance & Advisory

City of London, hybrid | £45,000 to £60,000 depending on experience | Full time

Most analyst roles in corporate finance are narrower than they look.

You get handed one part of a deal, you get good at that part, and three years later that is still the part you do. This one is set up differently.

A well-established financial services group with offices in the City of London and the South East is looking for a Business Analyst to join its corporate finance and advisory team. The team is small and partner-led, and it sits alongside a much larger accountancy, tax and wealth practice. So the work arrives with proper context: the firm already knows the client, the numbers and the tax position before a valuation or a raise starts.

You will be across valuations, capital raises, R&D claims, share scheme work and business modelling, often in the same week. If you are technically strong and want to move out of compliance into advisory, this is a good way to do it.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

• Business valuations, often supporting EMI option and growth share projects
• Building and maintaining cashflow and business forecast models
• Supporting debt and equity capital raises, including IMs and investor targeting
• R&D tax credit claims, with a clear route to running the service line
• EIS and SEIS applications for businesses raising investment
• Transaction support: share issues, structuring, documentation and project management
• MI tools and analysis for clients' finance functions

WHO THIS WILL SUIT

• ACA or ACCA qualified or part-qualified, or an analyst with equivalent experience
• Strong Excel modelling. You can build one from scratch, not just maintain it
• Someone coming out of audit or accounts who wants advisory work
• Comfortable talking directly to business owners
• Happy running several live projects at once

Corporate finance experience helps but is not essential. The firm is more interested in how you think than in what is already on your CV.
