Job summary

VirtueTech Recruitment Group seeks a Senior Business Analyst to join a new Front-to-Back Office vertical in London. You will partner with trading, risk, operations and IT to deliver strategic technology initiatives with autonomy and senior stakeholder exposure.

Own end-to-end delivery across energy trading, ETRM/CTRM platforms and regulatory controls, balancing detailed analysis with strategic oversight.

Qualifications

• Strong energy trading domain knowledge including gas & power.
• Experience delivering tech change across Front-to-Back Office.
• Experience in regulated financial services environments.
• Experience with ETRM/CTRM platforms, trade lifecycle, P&L, risk reporting and regulatory considerations.

Responsibilities

• End-to-end project ownership – leading full lifecycle delivery from requirements definition through to implementation and post‑go‑live optimisation.
• Business analysis leadership – eliciting, challenging and refining requirements across trading desks, risk, finance and operations.
• Stakeholder management – acting as the bridge between technical teams and business leadership, ensuring alignment and clarity.
• Governance & control – managing scope, budget, timelines, RAID logs and regulatory considerations.
• Agile delivery oversight – working closely with development teams to ensure sprint outcomes align with business objectives.
• Impact measurement – defining success metrics, tracking performance and ensuring tangible business value is realised.
• Change enablement – supporting user adoption, process redesign and operational readiness.

Operating across Front, Middle & Back Office, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering critical technology initiatives within a Front Office Gas & Power environment, partnering with trading, risk, operations and IT to drive measurable business outcomes.

This is about leading the convergence of business change and technology change across a trading environment where the divide between traders and tech is being deliberately removed.

The firm is seeking a senior Business Analyst to support a brand-new vertical — offering the opportunity to truly make the role your own. You will work closely with the Head of IT Delivery and senior stakeholders, operating with autonomy while being central to strategic change initiatives.

The firm are going through an exciting Technology Evolution including:

• Upgrading and enhancing off-the-shelf trading platforms
• Onboarding new products and expanding trading lines
• Driving automation across testing and release cycles
• Implementing modern architecture, tooling and data capabilities
• Strengthening regulatory, risk and controls frameworks

The Senior Business Analyst hire will provide high‑visibility oversight of portfolio performance, governance, and delivery across a complex IT trading environments.

Critically — they need someone who understands energy. Specifically Gas & Power and its related products.

You will be comfortable operating at C‑level and desk‑head level, able to challenge constructively while maintaining credibility in highly commercial environments.
