Job summary

A global organisation in the energy and commodities trading sector is looking for a Senior Business Analyst to join its Digital & IT team in London. This varied BA role involves working with Front Office trading teams and stakeholders across Risk, Finance, Operations and Technology.

We are working with a global organisation within the energy and commodities trading sector that is looking for a Senior Business Analyst to join its Digital & IT team in London.

This is a varied Business Analyst opportunity, working closely with stakeholders across a Front Office trading environment and supporting a broad range of business and technology change initiatives.

Rather than being focused on one application or repetitive workstream, you will have the opportunity to move across different projects, including new applications, data and analytics, process improvement and wider transformation initiatives.

You will:

• Partner with business stakeholders to understand requirements, challenges and opportunities for improvement.
• Work closely with Front Office trading teams alongside wider Risk, Finance, Operations and Technology stakeholders.
• Gather and translate business requirements into clear, practical solutions.
• Lead workshops, requirements gathering and stakeholder discussions.
• Support projects from initial discovery and scoping through to delivery and implementation.
• Work across a variety of application, data, reporting and transformation projects.
• Partner with internal technology teams, other Business Analysts and external suppliers.
• Help prioritise enhancements and improvements across the application landscape.
• Understand the wider impact of change across processes, systems and stakeholder groups.

The wider position provides exposure across the commodity trading lifecycle and works across multiple business functions.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for an adaptable Business Analyst who enjoys working across different projects and engaging with a range of stakeholders.

Ideally, you'll bring:

• Previous experience as a Business Analyst within a trading, financial services, commodities or energy environment.
• Strong requirements gathering, process analysis and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience supporting the delivery of projects and change initiatives, rather than solely requirements documentation.
• Confidence working with both business and technology stakeholders.
• The ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively in a fast-moving environment.
• Strong communication skills and the confidence to engage with senior stakeholders.

Previous experience within Front Office trading or energy/commodity markets would be particularly valuable, although candidates from broader financial services and trading environments will also be considered.

Exposure to trading platforms/ETRM systems, data, cloud or analytics projects would be beneficial but isn't essential. The formal brief similarly describes modern digital technologies as part of the wider environment rather than requiring a specific programming language.
