Exciting new opportunity for an experienced Business Analyst to join the UK and Ireland Head Office-based sales and marketing support team. Reporting to the Business Unit Director, the Business Analyst plays an essential role ensuring data and research are translated into clear insight to build and develop brand strategy and marketing activity. In addition, this role will analyse and produce data that measures the effectiveness of all promotional activity, enabling the sales team to work more efficiently, and with greater focus leading to increased sales results.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Work cross functionally with all departments and contribute actively as a member of the brand team and wider office community. Active participation in medical and marketing meetings in the UK and integrate within the wider company as directed by the Head of Sales.
  2. Support the Head of Marketing and Brand Managers with identifying key strategic insights of the UK/ROI portfolio of brands and the associated competitive markets. Support the team revenue forecast for each brand, ensuring accuracy of all assumptions.
  3. Manage regular and ad hoc report generation based on the needs of the business to ensure clarity of current sales outcomes.
  4. Work closely with the Finance and Brand Managers to ensure accurate forecasts (revenue and stock) during strategic planning and update regularly as required for estimates throughout the year.
  5. Identify areas of UK specific research that will drive insight and promotional effectiveness. Propose research to wider brand team to gain agreement and deliver as agreed.
  6. Work with third party data and where identified manage 3rd data provider organisations.
  7. Support global requests for UK specific research, ensure certification and SOP compliant delivery of all global research undertaken in the UK or with UK HCP.
  8. Work closely with the Compliance team to ensure all research activities are developed according to local SOPs and to conform to UK legislation and the ABPI/IPHA Codes of Practice.
  9. Develop, in conjunction with sales management, salesforce targets and align them to the business objectives. Calculate associated bonuses in a timely fashion for agreed pay out periods.

Qualifications

Science or Business degree

Person experience required

  1. Experience of working in a Business Information/Analyst pharmaceutical or dermo-cosmetic industry role.
  2. Ability to demonstrate a strong drive to understand the information driving sales and marketing activity.
  3. Highly numerate and analytic.
  4. Strong business and commercial acumen.
  5. Excellent communication skills, able to convey complex or data driven information to less numerate or analytic colleagues.
  6. Advanced use of Access, Excel, Word but also with IMS sales analyser, IMS dataview, Vecta and QlikView BI tools, Cognos, Oracle and SAP systems.
  7. Supplier management skills.
  8. Demonstratable knowledge of the external market and customer environment and the UK pharmaceutical industry.
  9. Good knowledge of marketing, business and compliance processes, incl. ABPI Code of Practice.
