Addition Solutions in the United Kingdom is seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst to support national security digital transformation programmes. You will translate user and business needs into clear requirements and acceptance criteria, work with delivery teams to prioritise work, and help shape MVPs while maintaining strong stakeholder relationships.

The role requires current eDV clearance, familiarity with Agile (Scrum/Lean/Kanban) and a solid understanding of the software

Clearance: Current eDV clearance is essential

We’re partnering with a technology consultancy to appoint an experienced Senior Business Analyst with a strong background in National Security.

This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to complex digital transformation programmes, working closely with customers and cross-functional delivery teams to define problems, understand user needs and shape effective digital solutions.

The successful candidate must currently hold eDV clearance and have a strong understanding of the software development lifecycle, Agile delivery and government transformation standards.

The Opportunity

As Senior Business Analyst, you’ll help customers understand the problems they need to solve and translate user and business needs into clear, deliverable requirements.

You’ll work throughout the project lifecycle, supporting delivery teams with prioritisation, process modelling, backlog development, testing and the definition of minimum viable products.

This is a customer-facing position requiring strong stakeholder-management skills, sound commercial judgement and the ability to build trust across technical and non-technical teams.

Key Responsibilities

You’ll support the delivery of successful digital transformation programmes by:

• Understanding and clearly defining the problems that need to be solved.
• Conducting analysis to understand users, their needs and the wider business context.
• Translating user and business needs into clear user stories, requirements and acceptance criteria.
• Helping delivery teams determine the most appropriate approach to solving customer challenges.
• Supporting teams to manage and visualise outcomes, prioritise work and agree minimum viable products.
• Working with Product Owners to create, manage and refine product backlogs.
• Modelling existing and future business processes using “as is” and “to be” approaches.
• Supporting the testing of functionality and ensuring solutions meet both user and business needs.
• Gathering and documenting functional and non-functional requirements.
• Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary and cross-functional delivery teams.
• Building strong relationships with customers and managing expectations throughout the project lifecycle.
• Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement across services, processes and delivery practices.

About You

You’ll be an experienced Business Analyst with a strong understanding of digital delivery and previous experience supporting National Security or similarly sensitive government programmes.

Current eDV clearance is essential for this role.

You will also have:

• Extensive commercial experience as a Business Analyst within complex digital or technology programmes.
• Strong stakeholder-management skills and the ability to build rapport with customers.
• A good understanding of Agile delivery methodologies, including Scrum, Lean and Kanban.
• Experience gathering and documenting functional and non-functional requirements.
• Strong experience producing user stories and acceptance criteria.
• Experience working with Product Owners to create and manage delivery backlogs.
• Practical experience working within cross-functional and multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience modelling business processes using “as is” and “to be” approaches.
• A strong understanding of minimum viable products, prioritisation and scope management.
• Knowledge of government digital transformation strategies and service standards.
• A good understanding of the software development lifecycle.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• A collaborative, proactive and customer-focused approach.

Experience in the following would also be advantageous:

• Working with APIs and system integrations.
• Supporting technical testing and validation activities.
