Job Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Digital Health and Care Wales (DHCW) Clinical Directorate to join the Clinical Informatics (CI) and Business Change (BC) Team as a Business Analyst.

We are looking for a passionate and experienced Business Analyst to analyse problems and opportunities in Clinical Informatics practices when applied to DHCW clinical product initiatives. The post holder will support CI & BC Team in new ways of integrated, collaborative working through internal business process re-engineering, implementation of the CI Framework and supporting the CXIO's in the review of digital clinical pathways e.g. for AHP's.

This post requires detailed knowledge of business analysis tools and techniques and how to identify and compare the best processes or delivery methods to use, including measuring and evaluating outcomes and require an understanding of agile working.

The post holder will be required to demonstrate exceptional standards and quality of work, while working in a challenging and fast-paced environment; an ability to manage a variety of competing priorities and complex tasks that require a flexible and pro-active approach; combined with excellent communication, interpersonal, organisational, and problem-solving skills.

Main duties of the job

• Support Clinical Informatics and Business Change teams by analysing problems and opportunities in our Clinical practices to produce solutions and improvements.
• Manage stakeholder relationships and develop a good understanding of the identified work area.
• Utilise appropriate tools and techniques to capture information and deliver analysis and insights to aid decision making.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Qualifications

Qualifications and Knowledge Essential

• Educated to post-graduate level or equivalent specialist knowledge and experience.
• BSC International Diploma in Business Analysis, or a willingness to undertake it.
• Evidence of continuous professional development.
• Detailed knowledge of business analysis tools and techniques and how to identify and compare the best processes or delivery methods to use, including measuring and evaluating outcomes.
• Understanding of agile working, ideally with practical experience.

Desirable

• Knowledge of NHS Wales or the Health sector.

Experience Essential

• Experience of investigating complex problems and identifying opportunities.
• Experience applying a variety of business analysis tools and techniques, including conducting workshops, identifying, and analysing options, capturing user stories, modelling, and analysing business processes.
• Strong planning, communication, influencing and presentation skills.
• Experience of engaging with colleagues at all levels.

Skills and Attributes Essential

• Ability to challenge teams and stakeholders about the way things are currently being done.
• Sound written and verbal communication skills, and proven experience of building great stakeholder relationships and to communicate analytical findings clearly to them.
• Ability to support teams to understand and visualise outcomes, ensuring that work is properly prioritised.
• A user-centred focus, ensuring that your work is based on robust evidence.

Desirable

• Welsh Language Skills are desirable levels 1 to 5 in understanding, speaking, reading, and writing in Welsh.
