About

Business Analyst

Location: Burnley (Hybrid – 3 days on site, up to 2 days working from home)

Salary: £40,000

As a Business Analyst at Calico, you’ll be at the heart of a transformation that truly matters.

The Transformation Team is central to enabling the successful delivery of The Calico Group’s Corporate Plan and Customer Strategy. Our small, passionate team delivers projects and continuous improvement activities that transform services for both customers and colleagues. Working closely with Group ICT and Group Performance, we focus on creating excellent, digitally focused outcomes through partnership and innovation.

The Opportunity

We’re looking for a proactive and analytical Business Analyst to join our ambitious and collaborative Transformation Team. In this role, you’ll be instrumental in shaping how we design and deliver services across The Calico Group. You’ll work directly with colleagues and customers to understand how we operate, evaluate systems, and identify areas to improve.

You will be at the centre of an important systems review project, leading analysis and transforming data into insights and then into actions. This presents a fantastic opportunity to enhance your skills and contribute to meaningful transformations that align with our digital, data, and ICT strategies.

A Typical Day Might Involve

  • Facilitating workshops to understand service needs.
  • Gathering user requirements and creating process maps.
  • Collaborating with ICT and service teams to turn insights into real, tangible improvements.
  • Presenting findings to stakeholders and project boards.
  • Supporting teams through change, ensuring the customer voice is at the heart of everything we do.

What We’re Looking For

Essential

  • Proven experience in a Business Analyst or similar service design role.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work across teams.
  • Proficiency in data tools such as Excel or SQL.
  • Experience gathering and translating business requirements into clear documentation.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of process improvement methods and mapping techniques.

Desirable

  • A relevant qualification in Business Analysis (e.g., CBAP, CCBA).
  • Degree in Business Administration, IT, or related field.
  • Experience working with Agile and/or Scrum methodologies.
  • Understanding of user-centred design and service design.
  • Awareness of GDPR and information governance.
