Peaple Talent has partnered with an award-winning professional service organization based in Bristol, recruiting for a Business Analyst to join their expanding Business Change team.

The Business Analyst will investigate business systems and processes, identifying options for improvement. Responsibilities include producing robust business cases, supporting project plans, resource requirements, and delivering products to realize business benefits. The role involves applying business analysis techniques throughout the project lifecycle to achieve desired outcomes.

Role and responsibilities:

  1. Balance competing priorities and multiple projects in a reactive, flexible environment.
  2. Produce business cases, support project planning, and deliver products to realize business benefits.
  3. Identify and deliver business analysis products within various frameworks such as agile and waterfall.
  4. Document business requirements using techniques like interviews, workshops, and process descriptions.
  5. Collaborate with the Software Development Team to create user stories and translate requirements.
  6. Communicate proactively with clients to analyze needs and requirements.
  7. Challenge business assumptions and serve as a liaison between business units, technology, and external suppliers.
  8. Create test scripts, plans, and coordinate user acceptance testing.
  9. Support and mentor team members to maintain high standards of analysis.
  10. Assist project managers in planning, structuring, and leading projects, ensuring deadlines are met.

Skills and Experience:

  1. Experience with various Business Analysis techniques in both Agile and Waterfall environments, including writing specifications.
  2. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and interpretation skills to understand business needs.
  3. Influencing and interpersonal skills to manage change and stakeholder relationships.
  4. Ability to document processes and identify improvements.
  5. Leadership qualities and comfort with ambiguity and challenging the status quo.
  6. Excellent interpersonal skills and adaptability.
  7. Good technical understanding with a focus on business, not IT.
  8. Self-motivated with good time management and prioritization skills.
  9. Ability to evaluate information, distinguish user requests, and identify necessary changes.
  10. Experience documenting workflows, use cases, and requirements, and obtaining stakeholder sign-offs.
  11. Ability to track benefits realization measures.
  12. Collaborate with technical teams to establish technical visions and analyze trade-offs.
  13. Maintain traceability of decisions and requirements.
  14. Support risk and issue management and actively participate in team meetings.

Other experiences:

  1. Experience managing end-to-end project lifecycles in both agile and waterfall models.
  2. Proven ability to write specifications for IT and operational systems.
  3. Experience working directly with end users at all organizational levels.
  4. Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
