Job summary

Sword Group in Aberdeen is seeking a Business Analyst to partner with stakeholders, gather requirements, and deliver insightful BI solutions that enhance decision making and project delivery.

You will translate business needs into use cases, drive data quality, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to define BI objectives, reports, and dashboards, with a focus on clear communication to non-technical audiences.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Business Analyst with demonstrable experience delivering IT solutions around Business Intelligence and supporting project managers with delivery of work streams.
• Strong experience with requirements gathering and analysis.
• Experience in driving data quality, standardizing complex asset data.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, and excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Perform requirements analysis and gathering and deliver them into delivery.
• Support Project / Product managers with delivery on IT workstreams and cost estimates.
• Translate business requirements into use cases with acceptance criteria and functional specs.
• Engage with business stakeholders and SMEs to capture reporting and analytics needs and guide the team.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define BI needs and objectives.
• Analyze data and generate meaningful reports to support strategic decisions.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements through data analysis.

The role will involve working collaboratively with stakeholders to gather requirements, analyse data and deliver insightful solutions to enhance decision making processes and support smooth project delivery.

Here’s What The Role Looks Like:

• Perform requirements analysis and gathering and executing/handing over them into delivery
• Support Project / Product managers with delivery on IT based workstreams on requirements, capacity estimates and cost
• Ability to analyse complex issues and transform into manageable deliverables including solution and services
• Engage with business stakeholders and SMEs to capture and agree reporting and analytics requirements and provide guidance to the team
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to define business intelligence needs and objectives
• Analyzing data and generating meaningful reports to support strategic decisions
• Identifying opportunities for process improvements through data analysis
• Ensure consistent use of standard business terminology and data sources

Requirements

• Experience as a Business Analyst with demonstrable experience delivering IT solutions around Business Intelligence and supporting project managers with delivery of work streams
• Strong experience with requirements gathering and analysis
• Experience in driving data quality, standardizing complex asset data
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and issues
• Strong analytical, conceptual and problem‑solving abilities
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to translate business requirements in to use cases (with descriptions, acceptance criteria, functional and on functional requirements)
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to present data driven insights to non technical audiences
• An ability to present visualizations/reports in a business context to business stakeholders.
