Position Details

Position Title: Business Affairs Partner

Team: Production, part of the Creative department

Reports to: Executive Producer

Role Description and Expectations

The Business Affairs Partner oversees all talent and legal components of projects by the Production team. You will manage talent affairs and handle rights and licensing, supporting Producers and Creatives in securing talent and assets. Ensuring legal compliance, rights ownership, and contract negotiations are key responsibilities. You will also liaise with Klick’s legal and finance teams to ensure proper contracting, licensing, and payments. This role requires problem-solving, creativity, and proactive negotiation skills.

Key Accountabilities
  1. Provide strategic management and leadership for the production team.
  2. Guide junior business affairs and creative production staff.
  3. Support multiple Klick business units as a shared service leader.
  4. Develop processes to streamline collaboration internally and externally.
  5. Ensure compliance with industry standards, union agreements, employment laws, and Klick policies.
  6. Coordinate contract support with producers and the Executive Producer.
  7. Maintain expertise in development, production, acquisition, distribution, negotiation, and licensing processes.
  8. Manage SAG-AFTRA, ACTRA, and other talent union relationships.
  9. Handle relationships with talent unions, agents, casting firms, and negotiate contracts for actors, voice actors, models, influencers, celebrities, musicians, artists, performers, and freelancers.
  10. Create and manage templates and internal processes for contracts and talent management.
  11. Oversee rights and licensing for all content, including static and moving images and music.
  12. Negotiate contracts, legal agreements, and vendor terms effectively and financially optimally.

Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in a related field is preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience managing talent, licenses, and contracts in an agency setting.
  • Extensive experience in business affairs, especially on a global scale.
  • Experience in broadcast agency environments is required.
  • Experience working with life sciences clients is a plus.
