A local government authority in Northamptonshire is seeking a Business Adviser to join their Growth Hub Team. The role involves supporting businesses across the South Midlands by providing expert advice and developing tailored action plans. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills and experience in business development. We are seeking an enthusiastic and self-motivated Business Adviser for the South Midlands Growth Hub, to support and advise businesses across the South Midlands region (Bedfordshire, Luton, Milton Keynes, and Northamptonshire).
This role includes providing advice, information, diagnostics, brokerage, referrals, and introductions to support organizations as appropriate. You could be assisting businesses with securing external funding, contingency planning, marketing and commercialization, growth action plans, net zero ambitions, and staff and skills retention.
The South Midlands Growth Hub offers free business support and advice, access to grant funding, and an extensive resource library to businesses in the region.
This position is part of a job share opportunity for 22.2 hours per week.

You will have excellent communication skills and experience building strong relationships with partners and businesses across the region.
You should demonstrate specialist business knowledge, including business lifecycle, financial management, marketing, sales, pricing, and product validation, along with an understanding of resilience, growth, and investment issues.
You will support the delivery of Growth Hub programmes, including 1-1 support, grants, workshops, events, and future initiatives.
A solutions-driven, adaptable approach, the ability to manage processes smoothly, and initiative to think outside the box are essential.
