Position
Business Administration Apprentice
Location: Gateshead (NE10) – occasional hybrid working available
Hours: Full-time (approximately 37.5 hrs/week)
Duration: 18–24 months (aligned with Business Administration Apprenticeship Standard)
Responsibilities
- Provide general administrative support, including answering phones, handling emails, and managing incoming/outgoing correspondence.
- Support scheduling and bookings using internal systems.
- Maintain and update databases, records, and documentation.
- Assist in formatting and producing documents using desktop publishing software (e.g., Adobe InDesign, MS Publisher).
- Handle basic finance/admin tasks such as invoice tracking or client documentation.
- Support compliance and document management in line with ISO and information governance standards.
- Help with internal communications and social media as needed.
Requirements
Essential
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
- Strong IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Good working knowledge of desktop publishing tools such as Adobe InDesign or MS Publisher.
- Organised, reliable, and able to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Respect for confidentiality and data protection standards.
Desirable
- Previous admin experience (school/work placement).
- Understanding of interpreting or translation services.
- Experience with CRM or scheduling systems.
Training & Development
- Structured Business Administration Apprenticeship (Level 2 or 3) through a registered training provider.
- Practical, hands-on training across admin, IT, and customer service functions.
- Mentorship and on-the-job learning alongside experienced staff.
- Development in data security, document formatting, and quality procedures.
- Progress reviews, feedback, and support for long-term career development.
